CORTEZ, COLORADO (May 28 & 29, 2010)- Zane “Zippy” DeVilbiss of Farmington, New Mexico got his car in top shape as he traveled to the Fairgrounds Speedway in Cortez, Colorado. Zane came off a win in Vernal and was looking to continue that stat in Cortez. Zane was seen starting on the pole in heat race number two. Zane would come to the pits with a third place finish in his heat race. Zane then had bypassed the B-Mains due to finishing in the top four. 32 IMCA Modifieds were in the pits for a regular IMCA points race. Zane then would be seen starting on the pole for the feature. When the green came out, Zane had a great lead over the field. The race track was rougher than usual. The race went on but with only a few laps left in the feature. Zane blew out a right rear tire due to the rough track conditions forcing him to come in the pits to get it changed. Zane came back on the track and worked his way back up to finish in thirteenth. The next day, the track was a lot better shape as Zane would start third in his heat race and finish third again. By the time the feature rolled around, Zane was seen starting on the front row once again, this time he was on the outside. Zane held off hard chargers such as Ricky Alvarado and Brandon Carley. Zane will now be travelling to the Desert Thunder Raceway in Price, Utah for some WWMT racing action. He is currently third in the standings in the WWMT.
