BATTLE MOUNTAIN, NEVADA (June 25, 26, & 27, 2010)- Zane DeVilbiss of Farmington, New Mexico headed to the Battle Mountain Raceway in Battle Mountain, Nevada for the triple header race weekend. Friday and Saturday was the scheduled EQ IMCA Wild West Modified Tour races and the race on Sunday was a make up race that had gotten rained out in Battle Mountain. DeVilbiss was looking to continue his winning streak that he had started in Price, Utah earlier this month with the WWMT. The first night, DeVilbiss did not draw well as he would be seen starting in the rear of heat race number one with team mate Chase Hansen in that same heat race. DeVilbiss would gain a few spots to finish in the third spot. That finish forced him to run a B-Feature. Zane started on the pole in his B-Feature and won it easily. That win made Zane start in the thirteenth spot in the feature. Zane would work traffic, work the top, work the bottom and end up getting up to the seventh spot on the one lane surface. The next day seen DeVilbiss starting a little bit farther towards the front of the heat race. He was in heat one once again and starting in third. Zane immediatley took the race lead and never looked back as he won the heat race. Zane then had to go redraw after the third and final B-Feature for his starting spot for the feature. He pulled out an eleven. Zippy took the green in the eleventh spot and worked his way nearly into the top five until Zane got caught up in an early accident in turn three and four. Zane kept it going but had to go to the rear. DeVilbiss wrestled his way towards the front until he was hit in the left rear and was forced to the pits due to a cut tire. He then had to start in the rear once again, Zippy was lookin good until he again cut another tire. DeVilbiss was forced to take his machine to the pits for the night. Zane then had to get ready for the day show on Sunday. Zippy was seen in heat race number one for the third time in a row. Zane won the heat and got ready for the feature. Zippy started mid pack and was in the lead immediatley and never looked back to get his twenty ninth career IMCA feature win and eleventh of the season in his #18Z DeVilbiss Motorsports chassis. Zane will now head to the Aztec Speedway this weekend.
